How could anybody be fooled by this obvious attempt to counter-act the popularity of a non-white presidential candidate? Watching her speak last night made me think Dan Quayle had gotten a sex change. Completely lacking in substance or meaning, Palin's speech consisted of partisan rhetoric and personal attacks of the type popular on right wing radio shows.
I'm all for female candidates who are able to do the job, but this ridiculous "hockey mom" comes off as the stay-at-home mom who decided to go back into the workforce last week. She looks even more ridiculous standing next to John McMannequin. What frightens me most is the inherent stupidity of the Republican party's members and its apparent "talent" for overlooking abyssmal failure on the part of its candidates if it can keep the spearchuckers and the kikes from running the country. Goddam retards. Don't they ever get enough of incompetence?
Biden put it best when he said of the republican candidates that they want to ignore the previous eight years and have no plans for the next four. I expect McMannequin to be business as usual since his idea of middle class are those of us who haven't quite reached the coveted 6 million per year mark. But this Palin is supposedly the quintessential Washington, D.C outsider and maverick who stood fast against corruption and theft. Whatever. She's embezzled more money than she's distributed, check her record.
So now we're faced with a man of color who seems to get what's happening in his country and his running mate whose record of integrity is pretty good trying to convince Americans that the undertaker and his secretary are a bad choice.
In any other country this wouldn't be anything more than a latenight TV satire. In mine, ruled by conservatives who believe looking out for corporations is the same as looking our for them, it is a clear and present danger~

When your campaign lacks substance focuses on personal attacks as the Republicans are doing and not on the problems facing this country, lile a woeful economy and spending $10 mil a month on a war (um - peacekeeping operation) that could last forever not only kills lots of people but will keep this country in debt for a looooooong time.

Anyway, I feel like it's a lost cause. People don't run this country anymore, the corporations do.
And more power to who ever thinks they can change the system, but me thinks they'll drown in a sea of bureaucracy and special interest groups first.

I agree the system is corrupted to the point fo no return, but the past 8 years have shown us there are more bearable levels of corruption. What scares me is how the inclusion of this female tool has almost leveled the playing field.
Glad you wrote this...I watched both the RNC and the DNC...the republicans came off as a bunch of fucking whiners, the democrats put on a classy show, Steven Speilburg (sp?) did a number of the videos so they were of course riveting.
The Republicans emplyed their usual Rovian attack with bitter and condescending sarcasm ploy.
